The Russian embassy rejects accusations of the country in the security crisis

The US administration’s statement that Russia caused the security crisis is a reversal of facts. This was announced at the Russian Embassy in the United States on Tuesday, January 11.

Thus, the embassy responded to the statement of the US First Undersecretary of State Wendy Sherman that an answer to the “security crisis created by Russia” was needed.

“The statement of the undersecretary of state about the“ security crisis caused by Russia ”is in the good traditions of the US administration. Officials often turn facts upside down, ”the embassy’s Twitter page said.

The Russian Embassy compared this statement to “the baseless statement of the former defense minister, who in 2014 indicated that Russia is on the doorstep of NATO.”

On January 11, the Russian embassy in the United States criticized Washington’s approach to the negotiations and rejected statements by the American side that Moscow might resort to disinformation about the discussion in Geneva. According to the diplomatic mission, Washington’s approach speaks of the degradation of the culture of negotiations.

On January 10, White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki said the United States was preparing to “spread misinformation by Russia” about the outcome of the strategic stability talks. She noted that the consultations on security assurance issues were frank.

The talks between Russia and the United States on security guarantees ended in Geneva on January 10 and lasted approximately 7.5 hours. Discussions were held at the US Permanent Mission in a format closed to the press.
