16-year-old fled: no driver’s license, wrong license plates, drugs

Because the front license plate was only attached with adhesive tape, police officers wanted to carry out a handlebar and vehicle check yesterday shortly after 2 p.m. in Traun. A request from the license plate revealed that it had been removed from another car and has since been suppressed.

When the 16-year-old driver, a Bosnian citizen from Linz, noticed the impending control, he set his car in motion and tried to drive away. Because he was driving into a cul-de-sac, he didn’t get far. He stopped and, like his co-driver, a 19-year-old Afghan from Linz, jumped out of the car to run away. The police were able to catch up with them and arrest them.

Further investigations revealed that the driver was only 16 years old and therefore did not have a driving license. He also presented a forged sales contract for the car. He refused the clinical examination for impairment caused by addictive substances. He and his passenger are shown at large.
