The Ministry of Educationin charge of the Ministry of Human Capital reported that the second registration of the year for the Progresar Scholarships is now open. The registration period will be from September 5 to 30 and the new amount will present a 75% increase.

Progresar Scholarships: the Government opened the new registration period
The Government confirmed the reopening of the Registration for Progresar Scholarships. It will take place from September 5-30 and all those young people who are in the range of 16 to 24 years old and comply with the requirements may register to access the benefit.

The Progresar scholarships are a public policy established by the Ministry of Education of the Nation by decree 84/2014. Its objective is to reduce social and economic inequalities that hinder access to education. There are currently four different allocations that can be registered:
- Superior: scholarships for university and tertiary students.
- Mandatory: scholarships for completion of primary and secondary school.
- Nursing: scholarships for nursing students.
- Job: scholarships for vocational training courses. Registration for these is open all year round.
Progresar Scholarships: who can register
The scholarship system has a series of requirements that interested parties must meet to access the benefit. This year, the Ministry of Education added a new requirement to access the student support program: those who are in the last year of their secondary studies must complete a Vocational and Work Guidance Course.
Thus, those who wish to access the Progresar scholarship program must meet the following points:
- Be native or naturalized Argentineor foreigner with 2-year legal residence in the country and have an ID.
- Have between 16 and 24 years old fulfilled at the time of closing of the call.
- The sum of the income of the student and his/her family group must not exceed 3 Minimum, Vital and Mobile Salaries (SMVM)except when young applicants are entitled to a non-contributory disability pension granted under Article 9 of Law 13478.
- Students must meet the condition of being regular students.
- Engage in complementary activities determined by the program, such as the Vocational and Labor Orientation Course.
- Comply with the academic conditions established in the Progress Regulation.
- Count on the complete vaccination schedule or in progress according to age group.
Progresar Scholarships: what will be the new amount from September?
He Ministry of Human Capitalthrough the Ministry of Educationannounced an increase in the value of the Progresar scholarship fee for September. These will increase by 75% and will go from $20,000 to $35,000 per month.
The increase also includes the line Progress Workfor those between 18 and 24 years of age; or up to 40, in the case of unregistered workers. In all cases, the income of the beneficiaries’ family group must not exceed three times the Minimum Living Wage and Mobile Wage in force in Argentina, which for September 2024 is $268,056.
