Denmark relaxes corona restrictions

Zoos, amusement parks, museums, art halls and other facilities are allowed to reopen from Sunday, as can cinemas and theaters with an upper limit of 500 visitors. The government announced this on Wednesday evening in Copenhagen. In many places, however, you have to show a Corona passport that you have been vaccinated, recovered or tested negative.

In the country with six million inhabitants, more than 20,000 new infections per day were recently counted several times. According to official information, the particularly contagious Omikron variant now accounts for 96 percent of all new infections. Health Minister Magnus Heunicke pointed out, however, that the curve, which has now risen steeply, is flattening out again. The situation in the intensive care units is being monitored particularly closely. The situation there is under control.

The Minister of Health also announced that particularly vulnerable groups would be given the option of a fourth vaccination. Almost 55 percent of all people in Denmark have already received a booster vaccination.
