Zelensky’s office announced a possible trip of the president to the NATO summit

Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Igor Zhovkva on Wednesday, January 12, on the air of Ukrainian Radio said that Kiev had not received an invitation to the NATO summit in Madrid, but he “feels” that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will go there.

“There is no invitation yet, because NATO has not yet finally decided on the format of this summit … Most likely, a full-fledged NATO summit will take place. This means that not only NATO members will be invited, but also NATO partner countries, ”he said.

Zhovkva argued that Kiev had received an invitation to the alliance summit.

“I feel that the President of Ukraine will be present at the NATO summit in Madrid,” said the deputy head of the Ukrainian leader’s office.

According to him, Kiev at the Madrid summit “expects positive”.

Earlier, on December 16, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said that his country wants to get answers to questions about joining NATO and the EU, but Kiev is not getting them. The Foreign Minister indicated that he intends to raise the issue of Euro-Atlantic integration at the NATO summit in Madrid.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced on October 8 that the NATO summit will be held in Madrid on June 29-30. The agenda of the event will be the adaptation of the alliance to the challenges of the future. It is also expected to approve a new strategic concept for the alliance, which will reflect the changed security conditions.
