British Foreign Minister Liz Truss plans to visit Moscow. This became known on Wednesday, January 12.
“A lot needs to happen for the trip to take place, but Liz is passionate about the idea of such a visit and will seriously consider making it if the timing is right to help us achieve our goals,” a British government source told The Times.
He claims that the trip could take place as early as early February.
At the same time, another source of the newspaper denied this information. According to him, there is no preparation for such a visit at the moment.
British foreign ministers have not visited Russia since December 2017, when Boris Johnson, now head of the British government, visited the Russian capital.
On January 12, the Russian embassy in London announced that Liz Truss’s statements about alleged Russian aggression were causing concern in Russia. Embassy officials stressed that “the repeated accusations are misleading.”
