What is Children of Hurricane Katrina about?
The documentary is narrated by Edward Buckles, the American director who was 12 years old at the time of the event and focuses on how they were never helped by anyone. There was not even a single government authority who came to at least ask how they were and if they needed anything.
The days after the hurricane were equally complicated, because the entire population, mostly black, was dispersed, resulting in the loss of countless people. Many families lost small children or elderly people who could not be found later.
