“The widespread, persistent rain in Upper Austria continues today. The focus of the precipitation is in the southern parts of the country and in the lower Mühlviertel. The water levels in Upper Austrian waters have already risen sharply and will continue to rise. Local flooding is possible everywhere in small and medium-sized waters” – this is the current information from the state’s hydrographic service.

At the Danube gauges in Mauthausen and Grein, the early warning limits according to the Upper Austrian emergency plan for Danube flooding will be exceeded this afternoon. The water levels on the Inn and the Danube in Upper Austria will continue to rise sharply over the course of the day. At the Linz gauge, the early warning limit is forecast to be exceeded in the early hours of Sunday morning. The early warning limit will also be reached at the Schärding/Inn gauge this afternoon. A further rise is forecast. The water level of the Enns has exceeded the early warning limit at the Steyr/Ortskai gauge and is still rising.
