More than 450 men and women were mobilized to build flood dams, pump out basements and close roads. The Perg district fire department reported this on Saturday evening.
The Machland Dam was built in Mauthausen, and mobile flood dams were erected in Klam, Schwertberg, Mitterkirchen, Luftenberg and Langenstein. Countless sandbags were also laid out to provide security in the event of minor flooding. On Sunday, the Machland Dam will be further built in Saxen and Grein.
