Zelensky spoke about a telephone conversation with Boris Johnson

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a telephone conversation with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Thursday, January 13.

According to him, during the conversation, they exchanged views “on possible steps to de-escalate.”

“Had a fruitful conversation with Boris Johnson. We discussed the security situation around Ukraine,” the Ukrainian leader wrote on his Twitter page.

Zelensky noted that he appreciates the continued support of the UK for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

On December 24, former Lieutenant Colonel of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Vasily Prozorov said that specialists from the UK are taking part in the construction of a naval base in Ochakiv in southern Ukraine. Guard them, as well as aircraft and cargo fighters of the British private military company (PMC).

On December 18, British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said that Britain was unlikely to send troops to help Ukraine. At the same time, the minister did not say whether the UK would join the US in arming Ukraine.
