Fans of the number 1 selling cocktail around the world for the third consecutive year according to the annual ranking of the specialist magazine Drinks International, will be able to enjoy special activations, which will be part of the “Negroni Route”. More than 62 bars and restaurants from all over the country are joining the Negroni Week, including Punto Mona and Nobel.

¨The Negroni is a classic and sophisticated drink with deep roots in Italian culture. While its original composition is perfect, it also inspires innovation in global cocktail making. Variations should keep Campari as the central ingredient, enhancing the cocktail’s profile without overshadowing its essence¨, he highlights. Estefanía Jacbos, Marketing Manager of the Campari brand at Campari Group Argentina.
Taking into account its versatility, Negroni Week 2024 also seeks to provide an immersive experience to attendees, led by the two most renowned local mixologists, Sebastián García at the Nobel bar in Parque Leloir and Mona Gallosi at Punto Mona, Chacarita.
Seba Garcia created a different essence for his Negroni 2024, developed on the basis of Earl Grey tea with bergamot essence. “It has a gin base, which provides its power and botanical touch, its Campari heart, which gives it its color, its bitter notes and that characteristic touch, and then the vermouth rosso with its wine-based sweetness.”

Mona Gallosi He used lemongrass maceration to create the perfume, and the fat wash technique, with almond oil and cognac, to achieve a smoother cocktail. “From the traditional method we used the chilled method. As a base drink I used Calvados Cognac, the heart of Campari, a French Vermouth, and the French herbal liqueur Chartreuse,” he says.
There is plenty of history surrounding the Negroni. Although Count Camillo Negroni is often the first figure mentioned in relation to the cocktail, bartender Fosco Scarselli, who was actually in charge of the bar at the legendary Caffe Casoni in Florence when the Negroni made its public debut, is also a key figure in the history of cocktails. “The job of a bartender is not just any job,” Scarselli once said. “It has to change depending on the person in front of him. He has to know and guess the flavour and the feeling he must offer. A panacea against dark moments and bad luck.” As a curious fact, Café Cassoni, now renamed Caffe Giacosa, is currently owned by fashion designer Roberto Cavalli.
