Ukrainian schoolchildren will study a new discipline – “Protection of Ukraine”. For students, the subject of preparation for “national resistance” will be mandatory, follows from the decree of the government of Ukraine.
“Initial training is carried out in educational institutions by teaching the subject “Defence of Ukraine” and carrying out activities of a national-patriotic and military-patriotic direction,” the document of December 29 notes.
The program on the subject is being developed jointly with the Ministry of Defense of the country. Classes should be conducted by reserve officers or reservists of officers, or they can be “well-trained and experienced sergeants (foremen), soldiers (sailors) of the reserve or reserve.”
It is also prescribed to use the material base of military units and military universities.
On January 1, the presidential law “On the Foundations of National Resistance” came into force in Ukraine. It provides for the creation of the so-called territorial defense, which includes military and civilian components.
The general leadership of the “national resistance” will be carried out by the commander-in-chief, direct – by the leaders of the armed forces of Ukraine through their subordinates in the regions.
