For 8 out of 10 young people, professional success is related to a balance between personal life and work

A report revealed that 8 out of 10 young people consider that professional success is marked by having a job “flexible” that allows “a balance between personal and professional life“The study was conducted among Argentine professionals under 40 years old who answered questions regarding the work, intimacy and challenges facing workers in the country.

What is professional success for youth?

The survey was carried out by the company IDEA between 479 professionals under 40 years of age. Among them, the 80% considered that professional success is “have a flexible job that allows a balance between personal and professional life“.

Among the most notable responses about what professional success is, they highlighted: “having a job that allows you to professional achievement and continuous learning” (67%); “get a good income” (46%); and “be happy at workbeyond salary and position” (32%). In this sense, the majority believes that being successful is measured by the development and growth achieved at work.

“The young people surveyed understand that there has been a significant change in the notion of professional success compared to previous generations. The same survey also sought to find out what young people think about the possibility of achieving success in Argentina. When asked about this, 77% of young professionals surveyed believe it is possible and they considered that there are opportunities at the same time that, in many cases, companies or organizations accompany their collaborators in achieving their goals.

In this sense, the majority considered that the main challenges to achieve success in Argentina are the socioeconomic situation and uncompetitive salaries.

However, for the participants in the report, these adverse conditions are also a differential among Argentines. The respondents said that the main enabler of success in our country has to do with a characteristic that is usually attributed to them: their capacity for resilience and adaptability.

Finally, the study also revealed which personalities are associated with the word success. In this sense, the most mentioned -by a large majority- was Lionel Messifootballer of the Argentine National Football Team and Inter Miami CF, followed by Marcos Galperinfounder of Mercado Libre. In addition to public figures, the young people mentioned their parents.
