The Government’s objective is to achieve approval of the privatization of airlines along with the projects of the Single Paper Ballot (BUP) and Clean Card, reported sources from the ruling party.
The project is voted on by simple majority, which means LLA does not have to reach 129 positive votes but it does have to have more support than Union for the Fatherland (UxP), the left and other opposition parties who, in principle, will not reject the project.
The government already failed in its first attempt to privatize the company in December. Airlines was included in the initial list of privatizations that appeared in one of the articles of the Bases law. However, opposition senators negotiated to remove it from the list and it was ultimately not included in the final version of the initiative that was approved.
