In a statement released on Wednesday, the Encuentro Federal bloc harshly criticized the President’s presentation at the UN.
The block of Deputies of the Federal Encounter that he presides Miguel Angel Pichetto questioned President Javier Milei for his speech at the UN General Assembly on Tuesday. The legislators of the dialogue-oriented opposition expressed their rejection of the president’s statements, considering that renouncing the “Pact of the Future” is “aligning our country with authoritarian regimes,” while at the same time “failing to keep the promise of integrating us into the world.”

Criticism of Javier Milei’s speech at the UN
“President Milei renounced the ‘Pact for the Future’, an agreement supported by most Western countries, and questioned the United Nations (UN), thus aligning our country with authoritarian regimes such as Russia, Iran, Venezuela, Nicaragua and North Korea,” the statement said.
“The deputies of the Encuentro Federal bloc reject the Government’s decision to distance Argentina from nations that share our democratic and republican values, and to align it with countries that do not respect individual freedoms,” the published text adds.
“The Pact for the Future, as an extension of the 2030 Agenda, establishes a global roadmap to address key problems such as poverty, inequality, the environmental crisis, the energy transition and the fight against terrorism,” said the bloc headed by Pichetto.
“By renouncing this agreement, the President is breaking his promise to integrate us into the world and is leaving us out of decisions that could benefit all Argentines,” he concluded.
