Chacarita ranked 22nd in a ranking by the prestigious Time Out magazine. Gastronomy and art have transformed the neighborhood into one of the favorites

Chacarita It is a growing neighborhood that has changed its appearance in recent years: restaurants, cafes and bakeries have been installed. It has been aesthetically beautified and has added art and nightlife options, but always maintaining a style that is somewhere between cool and bohemian. Due to these characteristics, the prestigious British magazine Time Out chose Chacarita as one of the neighborhoods “coolest in the world”.

The neighborhood was ranked 22nd (out of 38 chosen), climbing 11 positions compared to the ranking prepared in 2022. “Chacarita “It’s a place that was once known as the little brother of neighbouring Palermo. Today it’s a destination in its own right. New restaurants like the ‘neo-pulpería’ Abreboca have strengthened its already renowned gastronomic scene, and shoppers can look forward to an increasingly exclusive collection of boutiques along Avenida Jorge Newbery,” highlights the Time Out publication.

Nightlife in Chacarita

“As for nightlife, where else can you find a photography museum that also functions as a jazz club? Despite its popularity, the neighborhood still feels as relaxed and unpretentious as ever,” he adds.

“It’s always worth attending one of the functions and parties held at the C Complejo Art Media cultural centre. October has a particularly busy calendar, with Fiesta Polenta on 18 October and Jamie xx on 22 October,” Time Out recommended.

Chacarita It is one of three Latin American neighborhoods in the British ranking and the second best positioned in the region. The other two neighborhoods chosen are Gloria, in Rio de Janeiro, in ninth place, and San Rafael, Mexico City, in 28th.

Chacarita, a neighborhood with literature and good gastronomy

Murals, bookstores, theatre spaces and gastronomy make up this neighbourhood that is increasingly chosen by young people to live in. “The perfect day starts with a coffee at the urban oasis Jungla Café y Plantas before exploring Argentine designs and contemporary jewellery at Nadine Zlotogora. Walk two minutes to Charlone and find the buzzer to enter Falena, a closed-door bookshop where you can pair your reading with wine or coffee on its leafy patio. For a memorable dinner, we recommend the innovative Argentine countryside cuisine of Abreboca, ApuNena for excellent Asian tapas, or Na Num, recommended by Michelin, for non-traditional Korean food. Finish the night with an independent theatre performance at El Galpón de Guevara,” said Time Out.

The neighborhood has definitely changed and its transformation attracts more and more artistic, gastronomic, clothing and also real estate ventures. The area continues to grow and there is more and more demand to live in this neighborhood.
