The entity reported in a statement that it is withdrawing from the province due to the increase in costs implied by the increase in local taxes.

He Nation Bank announced that it decided close Zonal Management of La Pampa, before the “decision of the province to double the rate of the Gross Income Tax that taxes loans to families and SMEs”.

“The measure is taken based on the decision of the Government of the Province of La Pampa to establish, through Decree No. 3609 and the promulgation of Provincial Law No. 3575, the sharp increase as of September 1, 2024 in the tax pressure on the loans disbursed by Banco Nación in that province,” the entity reported in a statement.

In this framework, the president of the BNA, Daniel Tillard assured that “the incidence of local taxes equals the expenditure on the staff payroll, which ends up being an imposition on territorial presence. La Pampa’s decision implies increasing tax expenditure by $350 million.”

“We want to make it clear that These taxes do not tax Banco Nación, but end up being a tax on credits. For this reason, we decided not to maintain our Zonal in the province of La Pampa,” he added.

In La Pampa, The BNA has a loan portfolio of about 100 million dollarswhich doubles the deposits it has in that province. In addition, it has 14 branches and 202 employees.
