The year 2022 does not start as desired for SV Guntamatic Ried: The first test match under neo-trainer Robert Ibertsberger against second division team Zwischen Steyr had to be stopped shortly before the end of the game when the score was 1-1. Striker Seifedin Chabbi suffered a serious elbow injury in the finish and had to be transported away by rescue.
During an offensive action, the attacker wanted to support himself with his hand when he fell. A Steyr defender overlooked Chabbi and collided with his outstretched hand. The Vorarlberger screamed in pain for several seconds, referee Dieter Muckenhammer immediately stopped the game.
A balanced game with few chances to score developed on the artificial turf next to the old Rieder stadium. However,Vorwarts went into the dressing room with a 1-0 half-time lead: Newcomer Can Alak had headed a corner kick from Oliver Filip (23′). Ried made ten changes at the break, Bajic equalized in the 57th minute for the Innviertel team to make it 1-1.

Despite the lack of personnel, forwards coach Daniel Madlener was satisfied with his team: “The performance over the 90 minutes was very good, but it wasn’t easy on this artificial turf”. Just two days after the 4-2 win at SK Rapid, the red-whites managed the next respectable win in the second friendly. It is now a matter of bringing this upswing into the spring season as well.
Coach Madlener after the game: “Now the players get a day off, after that we will continue to work intensively. We aim to be ready on February 12.”
Clear LASK victory
LASK also tested against a team from the second division on Saturday. Graz took the lead in the 38th minute in a sovereign 7-1 win against GAK, after which LASK created clear conditions in Pasching. Marko Raguz, Hyun-seok Hong and Juniors playtesters Alexander Michlmayr, Keito Nakamura and Alexander Schmidt scored twice for Linz.
