In Ukraine, they announced the “deep marginalization” of the country

On January 15, Oleh Voloshin, a member of the Verkhovna Rada from the Opposition Platform – For Life party, spoke of the “deep marginalization” of Ukraine in the international arena.

“It must be admitted that as soon as they started talking about Ukraine without Ukraine, the deep marginalization of our country in the international arena immediately became clear,” he wrote on his Facebook page.

He noted that in recent years, Ukraine has not come up with any of its own and realistic plan for resolving the conflict in Donbas and resolving relations with Russia.

“It seemed to some that we were in the center all the time simply because we were and remain a problem. The word “Ukraine” is heard everywhere now. But it is clear to everyone that we are not a player. That is why the news feed of the Ukrainian media looks so reflective: all events take place outside national borders,” Voloshin said.

The deputy pointed out that in the midst of the crisis there were very few messages from the authorities, according to him, some of the Western diplomats still come to the country just to preserve the image of the “defender of Ukraine”.

“So what remains is to wait for the “return of the hetman” and discuss the hurricane wind that knocked down the Christmas trees. Moreover, as the heroine of one blockbuster said about the uprising of the machines, “the storm is just beginning,” Voloshin concluded.

According to a poll conducted by the Oleksandr Razumkov Sociological Center and the Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation, 45% of Ukrainians consider President Volodymyr Zelensky to be the disappointment of the year.

On December 20, data from a poll by the Rating sociological group showed that only 38% of citizens trust Zelensky, while 61% of Ukrainians, on the contrary, do not trust the head of state.

In October, a member of the Verkhovna Rada from the Opposition Platform for Life Renat Kuzmin noted that if the current government in Ukraine holds on for some time, the country may cease to exist within its current borders. According to the deputy, there is a deliberate destruction of the state, which has already come close to collapse.

In August, political scientist, director of the analytical center “Third Sector” Andrei Zolotarev said that if Ukraine moves along the same course as it has for the past 30 years, then the country will collapse. Zolotarev called the results of Ukraine’s independence “gloomy.” He noted that the country – the only one of all the post-Soviet republics – was never able to reach the level of GDP that it had in 1991.
