Fake driver’s license, invalid driver’s license, no driver’s license at all, traveling without car insurance: many crimes have again been uncovered in the past few days during checks on the motorway in the border area to the Innviertel. In the past few days, German police officers have observed several times that the car occupants in the front seats swapped places just before the border checkpoint near Suben. Upon closer examination, the respective reason quickly became clear. The original drivers did not have a driver’s license.
Place exchange tricks failed
Among others, a 33-year-old Hungarian and a 34-year-old Kosovar were caught. Criminal proceedings were also initiated against the respective passengers who had swapped places with the men – for attempted evasion of the law. In the case of a 53-year-old “place swapper” from Romania, the check revealed that the man had already had to give up his driver’s license because of drunk driving in Romania.
A Kosovar whose driving license has already expired in Germany swapped seats with his passenger shortly before the check – as did a Hungarian who had never had a driving license at all.
In another case, it turned out that the 30-year-old driver from Serbia was banned from driving. A totally forged Moldovan driver’s license was found on a car occupant from Moldova, who, however, had only traveled with him.
When a driver from Bulgaria was checked, it turned out that his driving license had recently been revoked by a public prosecutor from Baden-Württemberg. The control of a Romanian showed that the 24-year-old had not started a driving ban that had already become legally binding and had therefore driven a vehicle in Germany without authorization, according to the police.
A 43-year-old Romanian who was caught at the wheel of a pickup truck doesn’t even have a driver’s license. A 34-year-old Turk was driving with a fake driver’s license, and a 35-year-old Hungarian who had been checked had already had his driver’s license revoked.
Without car insurance
When inspecting a car from northern Germany, federal police officers found that the vehicle had not had valid liability insurance for a year.
The car has been “destamped”, the owner is reported. In the case of a car driven by a Moldovan and registered in France, it turned out that the vehicle was not insured.
On the same day, another Moldovan was caught in a car without liability insurance. The car of a 36-year-old Croatian who had been caught had already been advertised for compulsory cancellation.
Finally, a 47-year-old Romanian was wanted by international arrest warrant for forgery of documents. He was caught by Bavarian investigators shortly before the border to the Innviertel. The Romanian was wanted in his homeland, he was arrested and taken into extradition custody. (sedi)
