Two explosions were heard on the evening of Sunday, January 16, in the center of Baghdad, Al-Hadath TV channel reported, citing a source in law enforcement agencies.
It is noted that the first explosion thundered near the National Theater, the second – near Al-Watik Square in the El-Karrada district of the Iraqi capital.
There is no information about casualties and destruction.
Earlier, on January 13, two people were injured during the shelling of the US Embassy in Baghdad. A woman and a child were injured. Two shells were fired at the building of the American diplomatic mission. A school located in a neighboring residential complex also came under fire.
Local authorities called the attack a terrorist act.
Prior to this, the Green Zone area of Iraq was shelled on 19 December. One of the rockets exploded in a square near the US embassy, damaging two cars. Another missile was shot down in the air.
