The new curriculum in the industrial engineering department takes into account the rapid development of digitization: “Industrial Engineering and Management” at the HTL Vöcklabruck combines technology and business with the aim of manufacturing intelligent products in autonomous production as sustainably as possible.
“More flexibility, more customization and a wide-ranging mix of subjects for the numerous professional fields that are needed from the product idea to market success in a production company,” is how department head Hermann Bauernfeind sums up the new curriculum. The students are taught the necessary technical and economic skills in industrial engineering and corporate management, product development, production technology and logistics. The training is aimed at people who are enthusiastic about technology, communicative and have a wide range of interests. “We are particularly proud of the high proportion of girls in this field,” says Director Gernot Weissensteiner.
