Brass band music and beekeeping were his life

Roman Prüller died on January 5th at the age of 83 after a busy, fulfilling life. The funeral took place on January 12 in the parish church of Behamberg. The funeral service was celebrated by pastor Father Georg, the former pastor of Weistrach, Anton Högl, and deacon Franz Wimmer. Organist Alois Schönangerer and a wind group from the Musikverein Behamberg also took part.

In 1964 Prüller married his wife Stefanie. From this marriage came four children, ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The Haidershofner was a farmer, musician, beekeeper and local councilor with body and soul.

In addition to farming, Roman Prüller worked for 32 years as a silo bricklayer and excavator operator for the Stöckler construction company in Weistrach. He also served on the municipal council for 15 years. In this function and as a local farmer’s council, he was particularly committed to his cadastral municipality of Sträußl. Prüller was a member of the Weistrach Beekeepers’ Association for 63 years, a member of the Seniors’ Association in Behamberg for 23 years and an active member of the Behamberg Music Association for 60 years.

Obituaries were held by Karl Hinteramskogler, chairman of the Weistrach beekeepers’ association, Karl Grübl, chairman of the senior citizens’ association, Karl Stöckler as a former employer, Haidershofen’s mayor Manfred Schimpl, and Christoph Marquart, chairman of the music association. All funeral speakers pointed out how reliable, sociable, humorous, energetic and certainly determined Roman Prüller was throughout his life.
