The British government is accused of holding a dozen parties in full confinement while forcing the British to drastically reduce their personal contacts due to the coronavirus, which increased this week, the pressure for Boris Johnson to present his resignation.
The prime minister was accused of attending an outdoor picnic, after an invitation to more than 100 employees of the official residence.
For this event in which he participated with his wife Carrie, he had to apologize to Parliament, but he excused himself by stating that he thought it was a work event to thank his staff for the efforts made during the coronavirus pandemic.
Then the Telegraph newspaper revealed two other Downing Street staff celebrations, which occurred on April 16, 2021 and lasted until dawn.
Downing Street also apologized to Queen Elizabeth II, for these two farewell celebrations for two cabinet employees that were held a day before the funeral of Prince Philip, the queen’s husband, and in full national mourning.
Education Minister Nadhim Zahawi, meanwhile, told ITV News on Monday that people should wait for the investigation to conclude before sentencing Johnson.
“He is human, he makes mistakes and when he makes a mistake he came and apologized to Parliament and I think it is right that we wait for the investigation,” he said.
Meanwhile, the leader of the opposition Labor Keir Starmer, which accused the prime minister of having broken the law by hosting parties at his residence and subsequently “having lied about what happened,” insisted again that Johnson must resign.

“It is in the national interest that he leave”, Starmer said in an interview on the BBC public broadcaster on Sunday.
For Starmer it is clear that “parties on an industrial scale” were held in Downing Street and he recalled that, in fact, most of the revelations have not been denied.
But the “Tories” hired Starmer whom they described as a hypocrite after images of the Labor leader also breaching the coronavirus restrictions were known.
Starmer, for his part, defended himself this Monday in front of the British press, alleging that the image that was spread in the media shows him in an electoral office in Durhan, northern England, before the elections in May last year, I was working with the Labor staff.
He explained that they stopped to eat and then continued working and assured that there was no party and he did not break the restrictions either.
He said that the restaurants were closed at the time and the hotel where he was staying was not serving food and they needed to eat.
“We did not break any rules, we were working in the office and we stopped to order takeaway,” the Labor leader defended himself in an interview on the LBC radio station.
