“One day I felt that I had said everything I wanted to say with my pictures.” Chris Hinterobermaier from Linz, now 62 years old, still says this sentence with conviction even after more than 30 years. The former professional photographer and multiple national champion began photography at the tender age of 15, but after another 15 years, at the age of 30, he stopped looking through the lens and focused on other things. The result was the world’s largest photo art competition “Trierenberg Super Circuit”, of which he was the organizer and mastermind until last year. After withdrawing from Trierenberg, Hinterobermaier, artistic director of the Hartlauer Photo Gallery, invented the “Motiva Photo Art Festival”: “It’s been on my mind for a long time.” With this show, the Linzer will stop in 20 cities, the penultimate stop will be Steyr next Tuesday, October 15th, from 7 p.m. in the Stadtsaal.
