The first attempt was only granted a very manageable success: The Chinese brand Maxus, something like the commercial vehicle department of the car company SAIC (MG Motors, Roewe), brought the first fully electric pick-up T90 EV to Europe and thus also to Austria in mid-2023 .

However, the whisper-quiet work colleague is missing a crucial ingredient in the form of all-wheel drive. Because a pick-up without a 4×4 drive is hard to imagine in daily use. That’s why only around 50 are running in Austria.
But: The Chinese are learning quickly and recently presented an electric pick-up that has been improved in all respects at the IAA in Hanover. The 5.5 meter long Maxus e-Terron 9 has two electric motors on board that provide a system output of 325 kW (442 hp). The electric double heart not only enables powerful acceleration, but also all-wheel drive.
