“Without the middle class there is no upward social mobility, there is only one country of rich or poor which is where they want to take us,” remarked the former deputy of the Civic Coalition during a talk at Universidad Católica Argentina (UCA) organized by Fundar, Cáritas and Techo Argentina.

Concern about the lack of socio-urban integration policies of the Government
For its part, Garcia Cuerva claimed socio-urban integration as a point to highlight in the latest efforts of Mauricio Macri and of Alberto Fernandezand conveyed his concern over the lack of commitment of Javier Milei’s administration to continue this public policy.
“This public policy has been revolutionary, because brought the poor into the discussion alongside politicians, priests, academia and other actors“, he stated. At the same time, he highlighted the message of Pope Francis and pointed out that “it was a policy that built bridges“between different sectors of politics and society.
“Today we are seeing that a slide policy deepenswhere the State barely gives handouts to the poor, who are not invited to participate,” he warned, and highlighted that “This abandonment of the State is made up for by the growth of the drug state.”
In turn, Miño recalled that “this was not a policy of one sector” but that it had been achieved “that the entire society worked for integration of popular neighborhoods: local governments, cooperatives, neighborhood clubs, companies, churches”.
Finally, Welisiejko called “build a political alternative” to leave “the place of complaint” and be able to “generate solutions that our country needs.”
“This policy was an example that we can do it”stated the former secretary of Socio Urban Integration, who was accompanied by other former PRO officials such as María Migliore, Juan Maquieyra and Gabriel Castelli.
