Since 2003, new drivers have had to complete driving safety training. At that time, the so-called multi-phase training became legally mandatory. A huge field in Marchtrenk was chosen to create the necessary infrastructure. Not everyone initially liked the plan to build a driving safety center that would serve 17,000 drivers per year. The residents’ skepticism was finally refuted.
The ÖAMTC mobility club opened the facility on July 28, 2004. It consists of five training slopes with water hazards, skid plates, aquaplaning pools, downhill sections and sliding surfaces that simulate a snow track.
