Business operations in Birkenfeld are to be discontinued. 220 employees produce ready-to-install stamped and formed parts in steel and aluminum for the automotive industry. In the 2023/24 financial year, the company achieved sales of around 50 million euros, and the result has been in negative territory for several years.
Several hundred employees affected
In the future, the plants in Dettingen, Schmölln, Schwäbisch Gmünd and Böhmenkirch will work together in a production network with respective technology and product specializations. This means that the individual locations can concentrate on selected core technologies and further develop them in a targeted manner, it is said. A total of 650 employees work in Dettingen, a third could be affected by the “personnel adjustments” due to the changed production focus.
