According to initial information, around 3:00 a.m. on the B126 near Hochbuchedt, two cars collided head-on with each other for an unknown reason. One of the vehicles was thrown over the guardrail and landed on an embankment.

One person was trapped in this vehicle and had to be freed by the fire department under extremely difficult conditions. The alerted fire departments from Hellmonsödt, Kirchschlag near Linz and Kronabittedt were able to free the trapped person from the wreckage after more than an hour. After being rescued, the injured person was immediately taken to the hospital in Linz for further treatment.

The second vehicle involved came to a stop on the road. Here too, one person had to be treated by an emergency doctor and taken to a hospital in Linz.

The B126 had to be completely closed in this section during the rescue measures and the accident investigation. In addition to the fire brigades, several police patrols, two emergency medical teams and three rescue vehicles were on duty. To recover the accident vehicle, which was catapulted into the forest, the Linz fire department was subsequently alerted with a crane vehicle.
