There is something deeply vicious in the emphatically humane attitude of the Norwegian authorities towards the terrorist Anders Breivik. This was announced on January 18 in his Telegram channel by Russian Senator Alexei Pushkov.
Convicted of a terrorist attack that killed 77 people in Norway in 2011, Breivik looks great, and the country’s authorities are considering his application for early release, the politician wrote.
“Breivik looks great… having ruined so many young lives. Looks like a successful manager. Well dressed. Pulled up. And he asks for early release, having served only 8 years, ”Pushkov emphasized.
“There is something deeply vicious in such an emphatically humane attitude towards a mass murderer, something with which it is impossible to agree. Humanity, reeking of absurdity and farce, when the postulates of the doctrine are higher than the requirements of justice, ”concluded the senator.
On January 18, ten and a half years after the massacre at Skien Prison, the first day of Breivik’s parole hearing took place. During the announcement of the petition, he stated that he was brainwashed by radicals from the Internet. According to Breivik, they are responsible for his actions.
In 2016, Breivik’s complaint against the state was tried in Skien Prison. He complained about the inhumane conditions in prison and the inability to communicate with people.
In July 2011, Breivik detonated a bomb in the government quarter of Oslo, and then shot employees and guests of the Norwegian Workers’ Party youth camp on the island of Utøya. Most of his 77 victims were teenagers – the youngest of them was only 14 years old. In July 2018, a monument was unveiled in Oslo to those who died at the hands of a criminal.
He was sentenced to 21 years in prison with the possibility of multiple extensions of the term of imprisonment.
