Although the repair began minutes after the accident, Albon was not able to participate in FP2 and Williams is working against the clock to reach Saturday, the day when the third practice and qualifying will take place.

In addition to the team’s concern about the condition of the car, the Grand Prix stewards announced an investigation to determine the exact causes of the accident and analyze possible sanctions or warnings.

At the time of impact, the rider was in third position, a performance that suited him well for the classification and that could have helped him achieve a competitive position for Sunday’s race.
