How to process free PAMI lenses

To process the glasses, it is important to know that the retiree does not need to go in person to the ANSES offices, a representative can do so by presenting the following documents:

  • National Identity Document.
  • Membership credential.
  • Electronic medical order from a doctor specializing in ophthalmology in the name of the affiliated person stating the prescription for the glasses, signature, explanatory stamp of medical specialty and registration number. The prescription is valid for 90 days.
  • FIN scale for the use of bifocals for the first time: requested at the discretion of each Agency. It must be taken into account that if the member does not fit, near and distance glasses will not be provided separately.

How many pairs of PAMI lenses can a member have?

Although in principle the program allowed one pair of glasses per person, currently it is two pairs per retiree. This means that the person can access the glasses for distance and near completely free of charge.

To obtain glasses, the member only needs to make an ophthalmological consultation and present the corresponding medical prescription. This prescription can be taken to an optician that is within the PAMI provider networkand the member will be able to choose from a variety of frames that enter the coverage program.
