Test drilling was carried out in the underground car park under the town hall in Leonding, which is why parking spaces had to be closed. However – the hope for more parking spaces is not fulfilled.
“There are ongoing renovations on the program, for some construction measures test drilling must also be carried out so that you can gain more detailed knowledge of the subsoil,” says OÖN from the town hall. Addendum: “An enlargement of the underground car park is currently not up for debate.”
As a reminder: During the redesign of the town square in 2020, voices were raised calling for the garage to be enlarged during the course of the construction work. The mayor of the SP, Sabine Naderer-Jelinek, rejected it. The reason for this: the costs would have increased from 1.6 million euros to around five million euros if the garage had been enlarged.
