There were always problems with the PCR tests: the results came late or not at all. The labs are overloaded. Therefore, the living room tests are now celebrating a return. The state of Upper Austria now wants to spend a total of six million of these tests.
When will the living room tests be delivered? Where are they distributed?
Today the state delivers the first three million living room tests to the municipalities in Upper Austria. Another three million are to follow later. How many tests a community gets depends on the number of residents. The delivered tests, including QR codes, can be picked up from municipal offices and magistrates in the first few days of next week. A household receives five pieces.
Can the living room tests be picked up in pharmacies as before?
No, the tests are only given out in the communities. However, many pharmacies continue to offer PCR or antigen tests there. Or to be tested at 36 public test stations in Upper Austria.
When is the test valid?
Even before the tests can be picked up, the test platform will go online today. Registration will take place in the usual way via www.selftest.ooe.gv.at and can also be reached at www.land-oberoesterreich.gv.at/corona-test. As with regular antigen tests, the negative results are valid for 24 hours and are also 3G proof in the workplace.
What happens to the living room tests that many people still have at home from earlier test phases?
Previously issued tests and QR codes can be used again. You get your validity back.
