The Iberian Peninsula will be affected by the Tropical Storm Patty, that arrives weakened and will bring rains in the southwest of the country, especially in the north of Cácereswhere more than 50 mm could accumulate between the afternoon of monday and tuesday.
Although originally a subtropical storm, Patty will become a conventional storm when it reaches Spain. It is expected that the Wednesday be more stable in the west, but the rains will return to the east, with potentially intense storms from Thursday.
Ruben del Campospokesperson for the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET)explained in dialogue with El Mundo that the area of Mediterranean will continue with storms this week but “weaker and more dispersed” than those we experienced last week, although this Monday there may still be heavy showers in areas close to the coast in Catalonia, north of the Valencian Community and the Pyrenees of Huesca. Although situations as serious as those of last week are not anticipated, the rains could complicate the cleaning and reconstruction efforts in the affected areas.
