Eva D. returns to Braunau and her living room with her: the cabaret artist, actress and presenter, who comes from Braunau and lives in Vienna, takes a seat on the Gugg stage. Next to her are the dialect rocker and former EAV guitarist Reinhard Stranzinger and body worker and yoga teacher Gabi Fink. The cabaret artist, who is also known from the ORF, promises visitors stimulating conversations, beguiling music and “other delicacies”. In an interview, the entertainer explains what still connects her with her hometown and what she still laughs about even in times of the pandemic.
OÖN: You move your Viennese living room back to Braunau, What do you remember most fondly when you think of your old living room and the time in Braunau?
Eva D.: There was always something going on in the Braunau living room, and friends just stopped by spontaneously! Our shoe shop below, our living room above, always a social highlight!
In addition to Gabi Fink, Reinhard Stranzinger will also take a seat on your sofa. what will be discussed this evening?
As it should be for a living room – about life! And the humor and cosiness are in no way neglected.
Reinhard Stranzinger was also born in Braunau and lives in Vienna. Have you both known each other for a long time?
We know each other from Braunau and have met again and again in Vienna. Unfortunately, we’ve never been on stage together, although I’m actually a rocker too.
Who else would you like to have sit on your sofa?
I don’t want to name any names at this point. In any case, I choose my guests very carefully. I always welcome people with heart, brain and humor.
When did you first think to yourself: Yes, i want to go on stage
It started with me in elementary school, when I imitated Didi Hallervorden in physical education class.
Have you run out of humor during the pandemic, or is there still something to laugh about in your living room?
Honestly, although humor is my profession, I have occasionally lost it during the pandemic. But it’s like sports, you just have to stick with it. Humor can also be trained in a certain way.
What was the last thing you laughed about?
About my clumsiness at technical things, it’s really incredible!
You have lived in Vienna for years, do you still speak Innviertel dialect?
And how! In my cabaret programs I only speak dialect. I think dialects are very important, they also have to be cultivated and nurtured.
Eva D. “Living room on tour” with Gabi Fink and Reinhard Stranzinger on Saturday, January 29, 8 p.m., at the Gugg Braunau. Tickets are available online at gugg.at.
