For more than a year, a 42-year-old is said to have regularly threatened his neighbors in the Schärding district – even with killing them. The man also used a butterfly knife several times and showed a handgun. The couple eventually filed a complaint with the police.
The suspect’s house was searched by order of the Ried public prosecutor’s office. The officers found eight long guns and 20 handguns that the man illegally owned. Investigators also seized swords, knives and a range of prohibited weapons and drugs.
When questioned, the 42-year-old did not confess. He is reported at large, the police said on Thursday evening. An entry and approach ban as well as a provisional ban on weapons were issued against him.
