Chase in the Mühlviertel: policewoman saved herself by jumping to the side

The young woman had used the car of a friend from the Liezen district without authorization and was noticed by a patrol in the Mauthausen area around 6 p.m. Despite driving at night with blue lights and a subsequent horn, the woman from the Mühlviertel stubbornly refused to stop the car. Instead, she stepped on the gas pedal and made numerous transgressions on her journey across Mauthausen.

Even an officer who had placed herself on the road to stop the driver was not impressed. The 23-year-old drove towards the police officer at a constant, excessive speed. She was able to save herself from being run over by jumping to the side.

The escape of the woman from the Mühlviertel ended in the area of the railway viaduct because she had to stop due to traffic. However, she was not willing to get out of the vehicle and hand over the keys, “which is why both had to be enforced by using physical force,” the police reported. She was arrested and taken to the police station, where she refused a breathalyzer and clinical examination to determine drug impairment.

The 23-year-old has not had a driving license for almost a year and has since been reported several times because of this and driving under the influence of drugs. Officers also found drugs in the vehicle that still need to be investigated. The woman confessed in part when she was questioned. She is reported to the public prosecutor’s office in Linz.
