The local SPÖ party in Niederkappel is about to be dissolved. At least the parliamentary group leader and local party leader Franz Rotter makes no secret of this. According to him, seven of the eight members who stood for election in the fall are resigning. For the declarations of resignation, everything was initiated at the municipal council.
In a statement, Rotter cites the approval of the Federal SPÖ for compulsory vaccination as the reason for this: “This is about the fundamental rights that our parents and grandparents have fought for. We are about to lose everything.”
The effects of this step on community work should remain manageable: the SPÖ only has one of 13 mandates in the community council. In the fall, 12.5 percent of voters voted for the Social Democrats.
