The Innviertel sports calendar has many highlights to offer throughout the year. One that always starts relatively late is the thermal run in Geinberg, which traditionally takes place on the second weekend in November. For the 25th time, the Geinberg running club is organizing the successful event next Sunday, November 10th, which is so popular among athletes and has been supported by OÖNachrichten as a media partner for many years. “Mister Thermenlauf” has been there from the start “Alois Petermaier. Initially working as an idea generator and co-organizer, the running club chairman is at the forefront of the organization for the 14th time this year.

“You can’t reinvent running, but every year we do our best to create a great experience for all running enthusiasts,” says Petermaier. Together with his team, holding the sporting event after all these years was of course well-rehearsed, but no less challenging. The preparatory work begins in March; around 60 helpers are needed on the race day itself in order to be able to run the race in the best possible way as usual.
