At 8:00 a.m., 28,582 cases were reported, but this figure is not corrected for any errors. The day before, no final data had been published for the first time since the pandemic began. The Ministry of Health had referred to delays due to the high number of cases and the complexity of the evaluation.
According to EMS data, 25,592 new infections were reported from Wednesday to Thursday (yesterday). Ongoing problems with data cleansing can also be expected in the coming days, said the day before from the office of Health Minister Wolfgang Mückstein (Greens). However, all registration systems – including the EMS – would run without restrictions and without disruptions.
The figures published in the EMS are still raw data. The more reliable, because they have been adjusted, infection reports from the government and federal state crisis management team have not been available since Wednesday. On average over the last seven days, the number of infections reported to the EMS was a good 900 cases higher than reported by the crisis management team. The strongest deviation was on Wednesday, when the EMS morning report contained 31,070 new infections, the adjusted numbers were then 27,677 – the official daily high in Austria since the beginning of the pandemic.
