The work of art was sold for almost 1.1 million US dollars (the equivalent of around 1 million euros), as the London auction house Sotheby’s announced. That was significantly more than initially expected – the auction house had originally expected $120,000 to $180,000. The image titled “AI God” was created by a robot. The humanoid robot artist Ai-Da was developed at the University of Oxford in 2019. The image is a portrait of the British scientist Alan Turing (1912-1954), considered the father of modern computer science.
