WEF face-to-face meeting in Davos postponed to May 22-26

The face-to-face meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos was postponed to May 22-26. This was announced on January 21 by the organizers.

“The World Economic Forum is pleased to announce that it will be holding its 2022 Annual Meeting in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland from Sunday, May 22 to Thursday, May 26,” it said in a statement.

The meeting will be titled “Working Together, Restoring Trust”. The WEF meeting will be the first global event since the beginning of the pandemic with the personal participation of leaders.

At the end of 2021, the WEF postponed the face-to-face meeting in Davos due to the new strain of the Omicron coronavirus to the summer of 2022.

The WEF in Davos has been postponed for two years in a row due to restrictions imposed during the pandemic.

Thus, the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum, which was supposed to be held in Singapore on August 17-20, was canceled on May 17 due to the situation with coronavirus infection.

In January, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke at a session of the Davos Agenda 2021 online forum organized by the WEF. The main topic of discussion was the “new global situation” associated with the coronavirus pandemic.
