The first batch of ammunition on the night of Saturday, January 22, arrived in Ukraine as part of American assistance due to allegedly growing Russian aggression. This was reported by the US Embassy in Kiev on its page in Twitter.
It is noted that the cargo includes about 200 thousand pounds (about 91 kg) of weapons, including ammunition for the defense of the front line of Ukraine.
“This assistance, plus the over $2.7 billion in security assistance provided to Ukraine since 2014, demonstrates the United States’ strong commitment to strengthening Ukraine’s defenses against the backdrop of growing Russian aggression,” the U.S. embassy said in a statement.

Earlier in the day, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said the United States would send more military aid to Ukraine soon.
On January 20, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense announced that the country is currently receiving military assistance from international partners in unprecedented volumes.
Thus, in the United States, senators from the Democratic and Republican parties submitted to Congress a bill on the supply of weapons to Ukraine under Lend-Lease. According to the initiative, the head of the White House, Joe Biden, will be able to conclude a lend-lease agreement with the government of Ukraine and provide military equipment “necessary to protect the vulnerable civilian population from the Russian military invasion.”
The Baltic states, in turn, said they would provide Ukraine with Stinger anti-aircraft missiles and Javelin anti-tank missiles. In addition, the Czech Republic plans to send 152 mm heavy artillery shells to help the country.
Two planes with weapons from London landed in Ukraine on January 17, and on the 18th the last plane delivered anti-tank weapons. Presumably, we are talking about NLAW anti-tank systems.
Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that sending British weapons to Ukraine does not help reduce tensions.
