Live: Men’s World Cup slalom in Kitzbühl

At the slalom classic on the Kitzbüheler Ganslernhang, which was brought forward from Sunday to today, Manuel Feller, one of the greatest domestic hopes for a top place, will be missing. As the ÖSV announced on Friday evening, Manuel Feller has tested positive for Covid-19 and is in official quarantine.

Feller was second in Adelboden and fifth in Wengen. On Tuesday, before the Olympic Games, there is still the night race in Schladming.

Today is the first slalom on the legendary Ganslernhang in two years, when Daniel Yule from Switzerland won ahead of Schwarz and Clement Noel from France.

The Frenchman Clement Noel will open the doors. Marco Schwarz is the first ÖSV runner to start with number four.

For ÖSV boss Andreas Puelacher, the worry lines are no less. “Sunday I have to propose the runners to the Presidium, which then forwards the names to the ÖOC. Of course it would be cool if we could wait for Schladming, but that’s not possible,” says Puelacher. A quintet would currently be eligible for four places. In addition to Feller, Adelboden winner Johannes Strolz, Marco Schwarz and Fabio Gstrein, Michael Matt also thinks he has a chance.
