More than 30 fishermen are currently missing after two boats capsized in the Arabian Sea off the coast of Pakistan’s Sindh province. This was reported on Saturday, January 22, Xinhua News Agency, citing police representatives and local sources.
The incident happened earlier that day. More than 35 fishermen were in the capsized boats, police said, of whom five were rescued and taken to a medical center.
However, the search for 30 missing fishermen continues. Local authorities specified that the cause of the crash was strong winds and overloaded boats.
Earlier, in September 2021, a Mi-8 helicopter of the Khabarovsk Aviation Rescue Center of the Russian Emergencies Ministry took off from Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk to search for two fishermen who disappeared in the Nogliki District.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the men went to the Sea of Okhotsk in rubber boats through the Nyisky Bay, after which no one saw them. When examining the coast near Gafovich Island, boats were found thrown ashore, their motors were clogged with sand.
