They call a Paraguayan deputy a populist who raffles his salary on networks for being on vacation

In a Twitter thread, the deputy explained that he will raffle his salary of more than $5,700, divided into four prizes of more than $1,400 each.

Nevertheless, Rejala imposed a series of requirements to participate in the raffle, such as filling out a form on its website, following it on networks, and captivating two friends in the publication of their accounts on social networks.

An initiative that caused a stir on the networks, which was divided between the supporters of the measure and those who called it populist, reported the news portal Última Hora.

“Take your vacations and take that money to the fire stations in Ayolas, Misiones or to the firemen who are on the Costanera all day. Do something productive,” said an Internet user.

Something similar was expressed by another user, who reproached him that if he really wanted to help, he had to donate that money to people who really need it with the purchase and distribution of groceries. “You can tell he wants to win followers”, he opined.

Meanwhile, another person told him that he lost a vote, since he trusted his figure and respected him, but with the draw he only sought to build a database and add followers with money granted by citizenship to work for the good of all. .

There were several Paraguayan citizens who pointed out to Rejala that he was doing the same thing as the Argentine deputy Javier Milei. “This is not called anything other than populism. If social responsibility bothers you so much, there are too many institutions to which you can donate in any case, but this is too obvious that it is disgusting proselytism,” criticized a Twitter user.

The measure of the legislator is given in the face of the 2023 elections, in which Paraguay will elect a new president, as well as senators and deputies. Various movements and authorities have already begun a political career to maintain their positions.
