The already designated executive chairman Philip Wohlgemuth was unanimously appointed by the state party council as deputy state governor on December 19th. Federal party leader Andreas Babler is looking forward to the “new beginning with Philip” before the meeting.

Dornauer also appeared unexpectedly at the meeting of the non-media committee with around 80 members – shortly before the start, when Babler, Wohlgemuth and Co. were already in the hall of an event center in Innsbruck. Dornauer’s arrival had not been expected in advance. “Today is the state party council,” said the 41-year-old to the APA when asked why he took part in the meeting. This was followed by a brief shakehand with the other leading party leaders in the hall. Even before Wohlgemuth was elected, Dornauer left the red assembly again.
“New beginnings with Philip”
Babler, with whom Dornauer has often not been particularly green in the past, confessed before the non-public meeting that he “did not always agree on all areas” with the still Tyrolean SPÖ leader: “But we still have had an upright relationship.” Now it’s about that “new beginning” in the relationship between the Tyrolean party leadership and the federal SPÖ and with “Philip, who I have known and respected for a long time.” A “good solution” will be found to what extent Wohlgemuth will also be represented in the SPÖ federal committees in the current transition phase. In any case, this would be “important.”
