The Minister of Economy, Luis Caputo, and his Brazilian Mines and Energy counterpart, Alexandre Silveira, signed a memorandum of understanding for Vaca Muerta gas to reach Brazil.
Within the framework of the G20, the Argentine and Brazilian governments signed an agreement of understanding so that the gas produced in Vaca Muerta can reach Brazil. It would be 30 million cubic meters per day starting in 2030, the same volume that the country led by Lula da Silva used to import from Bolivia.

The memorandum was signed by the Minister of Economy, Luis Caputo, and its Brazilian Mines and Energy pair, Alexandre Silveira, at a bilateral meeting in Rio de Janeiro where the global summit of presidents takes place. The text seeks to lay the foundations for the infrastructure necessary for the export of Argentine gas from Vaca Muerta to Brazil.

The representatives appointed by both countries will analyze the alternatives to reach an export of 30 million cubic meters of natural gas per day in 5 years.
